The Wall Street Journal reported, citing informed sources, that Universal Studios has entered the initial planning stage for a new theme park project in Saudi Arabia.
The report states that "Universal," part of the Comcast group, is currently developing initial concepts for the park, which is likely to be funded by a Saudi-backed consortium, as part of a potential licensing deal with the American company.
The newspaper added that Brian Roberts, CEO of "Comcast," visited Saudi Arabia last month to participate in an investment conference, where his tour included a visit to the Qiddiya entertainment and sports megaproject, one of the prominent entertainment and tourism projects being developed in the kingdom, according to "Reuters".
This development comes at a time when the kingdom is undergoing a significant expansion in major entertainment projects, as part of its efforts to attract foreign investments and become a global destination for tourism and entertainment, according to "Al Arabiya".
