WhatsApp Launches Smart Voicemail Feature for the First Time

Khaberni - WhatsApp, owned by Meta, has launched a broad and new set of updates, led by an unprecedented feature that aims to change the concept of traditional voicemail, called Missed Call Messages.

According to WhatsApp, the new feature allows users to leave a voice or video message for someone who was unable to answer the call with just one click right after the call fails, a move that the company says makes traditional voicemail "a thing of the past", according to the British newspaper "The Sun".

The app explained that the messages can be sent as a voice memo, similar to usual voicemail, but the most notable addition is the ability to send a video message if the call is missed, a feature not provided by traditional voicemail systems on mobile networks.

WhatsApp said in an official statement: "We are introducing a new set of features just in time for the holiday season, as attempts to connect with friends and family increase, and users may not always be able to respond immediately."

It added that the user is now able, if the call is not answered, to record either a voice or visual message, depending on the type of the call, for the other party to listen or watch later.

Additional Updates
The new updates are not limited to the missed call message feature; they also include a number of other additions, such as: the ability to interact with emojis within voice chats, allowing participants to express themselves quickly without interrupting the conversation.

-A feature to highlight the speaker in group calls, automatically prioritizing the person who is currently speaking to facilitate the continuation of the discussion.

-Significant improvements in "Meta AI" artificial intelligence capabilities within conversations, including the development of an image generation model, with promises of noticeable improvements in result quality.

-Converting static images to short videos using artificial intelligence tools.

-Adding a new media tab in the WhatsApp version on computers, allowing easy searching in documents, links, and media files.

-Improving the appearance of link previews, to avoid cluttering conversations with long links.

-New stickers in the Status feature, alongside the addition of a question option within channels.

WhatsApp confirmed that these updates come as part of its ongoing efforts to develop the communication experience and make the app a more flexible and smoother platform, especially during peak periods like holiday seasons and vacations.
