Your Hearts No 1 Enemy Reduce These Fats and Protect Yourself from Heart Attacks

A new research review has shown that those at risk of heart disease may gain the most health benefits from reducing their consumption of saturated fats.

The review examined the results of more than 12 clinical trials involving over 66,000 people.

Researchers studied the effect of reducing saturated fats on heart health, cholesterol levels, and overall mortality rates.

According to "Health Day," saturated fats are found in foods such as butter, steak, pizza, ice cream, and many processed foods and meats.

Heart Attacks
The findings concluded that people most at risk of heart disease experienced fewer instances of heart attacks and strokes when they reduced saturated fats in their diet.

As for those not at risk, the same benefit was not clearly observed over a span of 5 years.

Some health dietary guidelines recommend limiting saturated fats to less than 10% of daily caloric intake, while the American Heart Association advises an even lower limit, less than 6%.
