Moscow We will not hand over Assad to Damascus

Moscow announced that it does not intend to hand over former Syrian President Bashar al-Assad to the new Syrian authorities, despite Russian efforts to improve relations with the government in Damascus.

In a statement made by the Russian Ambassador in Baghdad, Albros Kotrashiev, to Arab media, he confirmed that Russia has granted Assad humanitarian asylum and will not hand him over to any party for trial, emphasizing his country's stance against measures targeting him.

The British site “The Guardian” recently published a report discussing Assad's current life in Russia, noting that he is learning the Russian language and continuing his studies in ophthalmology, while he and his family live in an upscale neighborhood in Moscow, according to sources close to his family.
