Report Reveals Extensive Breach by the Muslim Brotherhood Inside France

Khaberni - The results of the second part of a major survey by the prestigious "IFOP" institute showed alarming figures that reflect a deep ideological penetration by the Muslim Brotherhood through its French branch known as "Muslims of France".

Based on the survey results released by the French magazine "Écran de Vérité" belonging to the "Global Watch Analysis" group, the number of "hard core" active members who have pledged allegiance to the Muslim Brotherhood in France is estimated at 83,600 people, which is 2.2% of adult Muslims.

The survey was based on a representative sample of 1005 French Muslims over the age of 15, interviewed by telephone between August and September of the previous year, from a total of about 3.8 million Muslims in the country, and comes as a continuation of the first part that indicated the spread of "toxic religiosity" among some French Muslims.

The report, which read the survey results and titled "Index of Secret Penetration of the Muslim Brotherhood in France", indicated that those engaged as "loving brother" (sympathizers) or "working brother" (active members), account for 174,800 people (4.6%).

13% (494,000 people) openly sympathize with the association "Muslims of France", while 23% (874,000 people) express intellectual sympathy with the Brotherhood current.

The report linked these figures to the first part of the survey, which showed that 1.4 million Muslims support various Islamic currents, with the lion's share going to the Brotherhood with more than 912,000 declared sympathizers.

"Toxic religiosity" is described as being marked by hostility towards others, refusal to mix, and a preference for religious laws over the laws of the French Republic, as observers call for enhanced monitoring of Islamic associations, at a time when the government is taking strict measures against political Islam.

French political figures saw in the survey results a warning of the increasing extremism among Muslim youth, as the leader of "National Rally", Marine Le Pen, considered that fighting "Brotherhood extremism" must be a national issue, emphasizing the need to confront any ideology that threatens French democratic values.

The leader of the Republicans party, Laurent Wauquiez, saw the survey as a warning sign that should be taken seriously, warning that extremism is gaining ground among the youth, while the left seeks to ignore the phenomenon.

The year 2025 saw a notable escalation in French measures against the Muslim Brotherhood, which the government considers a threat to national unity and Republican values. It started with the publication of a secret government report in May, prepared by two high administrations at the request of President Emmanuel Macron, warning of "penetration" of the group through local agents to undermine secularism and French institutions.

In July, another defense council was held, after which Macron announced tightened financial and administrative measures, based on the 2021 law against "separatism" which closed hundreds of institutions suspected of links to political Islam.

The measures at that time included freezing financial assets with anti-terrorism tools, dissolving endowment funds funding the group, confiscating properties of guilty associations, and fining government-supported associations that delay in signing the "Republican Commitment Contract". A new law was also announced at the end of the summer to be implemented by the end of 2025, enhancing control over foreign funding and imam training.
