Saudi Al-Shabab star Abdul Razzaq Hamdallah announced his retirement from international play after leading the Moroccan national team to the podium in the Arab Cup.
Hamdallah participated as a substitute for Osama Al-Tannan in the 72nd minute and succeeded in scoring the equalizing goal in the 87th minute, followed by the winning and crowning goal in the 100th minute.
In response to a question about the possibility of his participation in the World Cup finals with the national team "Lions of the Atlas," Hamdallah said, "This is my last match with the national team, and I am the champion of the Arab Cup. After all the hardships I've been through, it's time to stop internationally, and we are not a reserve team."
He added, "I am happy with this title, which compensates me for barren years I wished to be present with the national team to earn what suits my value and to make a contribution; unfortunately, it came late, but the important thing is that it came."
Hamdallah started his international career during a friendly match against Burkina Faso on February 29, 2012, and participated in 29 international matches during which he scored 10 goals and provided 3 decisive passes.
Hamdallah had previously announced his international retirement in 2019 after being excluded from the national team’s roster for the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations, but he reversed his decision and participated with the team that achieved fourth place in the 2022 World Cup.
