AlKhlaileh Resolves the Controversy Over Raising Social Security Subscriptions

Jad Allah Al-Khlaileh, the General Director of the Social Security Corporation, said that an increase in subscription duration will be on hold pending the results of the dialogue, pointing out that all countries with systems similar to the Social Security Corporation have a higher subscription age than Jordan, whether for early retirement or old-age retirement.

Al-Khlaileh confirmed in his statements on Friday that the value of the subscriptions will not be affected, and there has been no discussion about raising them; they are divided at a rate of 21.75% between the insured and the employer, confirming that "the current social security subscription rate will not be increased."

Regarding the equation for calculating retirement salaries, he confirmed that the basis in them, which is the benefit factor, will not be affected, and no adjustments will be made to it.

He added that in the 2014 Social Security Law, there were exceptions for those nearing retirement, explaining that a person who was 45 years old and had 300 months of service could retire at any time they wished.

He added that under the 2014 law, whether male or female, a person who completed 18 years of service for males could retire early at any time they wished, and for a female, if she completed 15 years of service, she could retire.

He pointed out that there are exceptions for individuals if they are 42, 43, or 44 years old, emphasizing that these exceptions in the 2014 law will not be affected, and a person can retire when the new law comes into effect.
