Khaberni - An Israeli blogger has stirred controversy by claiming that a famous Egyptian candy store is ready to open a branch in Israel, and the company hurriedly issued a clarifying statement.
An Arabic-speaking Israeli content creator posted a video on his Instagram account, showing him dressed in the uniform well-known to the employees of the famous Egyptian store "Balbn," and he showcased the products in the manner of advertisements known for the store on social media platforms.
The blogger claimed in the video: "Balbn has arrived in Israel," showcasing a number of well-known Egyptian products.
Balbn company issued a clarifying statement, asserting that "claims of opening branches of the 'Balbn' chain inside the occupied territories are completely baseless and have no connection to reality."
The company “unequivocally and clearly” confirmed, according to the statement, that the "Balbn" company is 100% Arab Egyptian and does not own, has never owned, and will never own any branches, activities, or partnerships inside the Zionist entity as we do not recognize them fundamentally," according to the statement.
It continued: "There is no expansion or direct or indirect dealings inside Israel, and all that is raised in this regard is deliberate distortion and intentional confusion between trademark thieves who are in no way related to us from near or far."
The statement noted that "any use of a similar name, uniform, or products bearing the same naming outside our official branches does not represent us and does not reflect our company or its management," adding that the trademark is legally registered, and necessary actions are being taken to protect the Balbn name from any exploitation or misinformation.
The statement continued: "Our position is firm and clear, we are part of this nation, and part of the conscience of the Egyptian and Arab streets, and we have never and will never be in a position that conflicts with the popular and national stance towards the Palestinian cause."
