Jordan and Egypt Discuss Cooperation in Petroleum Natural Gas and Mining Fields

Dr. Saleh Al-Kharabsheh, the Jordanian Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources, discussed with the Egyptian Minister of Petroleum and Mineral Resources, Engineer Karim Badawi, reinforcing joint cooperation in the fields of energy, natural gas, petroleum, and mineral resources.
During their meeting at the headquarters of the Egyptian Ministry of Petroleum and Mineral Resources on Thursday, the two sides agreed to form working groups from both the Egyptian and Jordanian ministries to discuss enhancing cooperation in the fields of crude petroleum and mineral wealth, developing joint projects, and exchanging technical and technological expertise to improve production efficiency and optimally utilize natural resources, enhance energy security, and serve the interests of the two brotherly countries.
According to a statement from the Ministry of Energy, Engineer Karim Badawi commended the Egyptian-Jordanian cooperation, which is continuously evolving and reflects the depth of fraternal relations between the two countries, noting that this was clearly evident in the success of the natural gas pipeline connection system between the two countries, as well as the use of the "Energos Force" regasification ship in the port of Aqaba, which contributed to securing gas supplies for various sectors in both countries.
The Egyptian minister confirmed that Egyptian companies are effectively working on implementing natural gas projects in the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan, notably including the Fajr Jordanian-Egyptian Gas Company, and he mentioned that Egypt is looking forward to expanding cooperation in the mining sector to enhance investments and develop natural resources.
The meeting was attended by members of the Jordanian delegation, including Engineer Sofian Al-Bataineh, General Manager of the National Electric Power Company; Engineer Ahmad Al-Dahni; and from the Egyptian side, Engineer Salah Abdel Karim, CEO of the Egyptian General Petroleum Corporation; Engineer Mahmoud Abdel Hamid, Executive Managing Director of the Egyptian Holding Company for Natural Gases (EGAS); Geologist Yasser Ramadan, President of the Egyptian General Authority for Mineral Resources and Mining Industries; Engineer Yasser Salah El-Din, President of the Fajr Jordanian-Egyptian Gas Company; and Engineer Mohamed Marzouq, President of the Egyptian Company for Natural Gases (GASCO).
