Khaberni - Polish Defense Minister Vladislav Kosiniak-Kamiś announced the deployment of "Patriot" air defense systems recently purchased by his country.
Poland had signed a contract in 2018 to purchase two batteries of "Patriot" systems, which have already been delivered and integrated into the armed forces.
Kosiniak-Kamiś told reporters: "I have just received a report that the Patriot system of the 37th Missile Brigade, belonging to the 3rd Air Defense Division, has reached full combat readiness," explaining that there are currently 16 batteries ready.
The minister noted that Poland has additionally requested 48 more "Patriot" batteries, scheduled to be received gradually between 2027 and 2029.
In this context, Moscow repeatedly points to the unprecedented escalation of NATO activity near its western borders, and considers that the expansion of the alliance and the deployment of advanced air defense systems — like "Patriot" — in neighboring countries pose a threat to its security.
Despite the Kremlin's repeated assurances that Russia "threatens no one," it emphasizes that it will not ignore any actions that threaten its strategic interests, considering NATO's provocative activities to merit appropriate responses.
