Khaberni - The American authorities officially disclosed the cause of death of film director Rob Reiner and his wife, photographer Michelle Reiner, after their son Nick Reiner made his first court appearance in the double murder case that shook Hollywood.
According to the "Daily Mail", quoting the Los Angeles Coroner's Office, the couple died from multiple sharp force injuries, confirming that both deaths were classified as deliberate homicides.
According to official records, the couple was found murdered on Sunday inside their mansion, and their son Nick Reiner (32 years old) was arrested on the same day, and he was charged by the prosecution with two counts of first-degree premeditated murder against his father and mother, with additional aggravating circumstances related to the multiplicity of victims and the use of a dangerous weapon (knife).
The prosecution clarified that Nick might face life imprisonment without the possibility of parole, or even the death penalty, if convicted.
During a session held yesterday Wednesday, Nick Reiner appeared wearing a suicide prevention vest, and did not present any legal defenses, and his famous lawyer Alan Jackson requested a postponement of the session, indicating his need for more time to prepare the defense, and the judge agreed to the request, setting a new date for the session on January 7th.
Rob Reiner is one of the most prominent filmmakers in Hollywood, known for his role in the series All in the Family, before turning to directing and producing notable works such as This Is Spinal Tap, The Princess Bride, When Harry Met Sally, as well as co-founding the production company "Castle Rock Entertainment", which produced the series Seinfeld and the movie The Shawshank Redemption.
