Israeli Occupation Penetrates Quneitra Again in Southern Syria

Khaberni - The Israeli occupation once again violated Syrian sovereignty by penetrating its forces, today Thursday, in Quneitra governorate in the south of the country.

The Syrian "Al-Ikhbariya" channel reported on the "X" platform that forces from the Israeli occupation penetrated a suspended village in the southern countryside of Quneitra, accompanied by tanks and military bulldozers.

On Wednesday evening, Israeli forces fired artillery shells from positions they occupy in the western Tel Al-Ahmar area towards eastern Tel Al-Ahmar around Kudna village in the southern countryside of Quneitra, according to the channel.

For months, the Israeli army has been penetrating Quneitra governorate, setting up checkpoints to inspect passersby, arresting Syrian citizens, and destroying agricultural land.

Although the Syrian government does not pose a threat to Tel Aviv, the Israeli military has repeatedly launched airstrikes that have killed civilians and destroyed military sites, vehicles, weapons, and ammunition belonging to the Syrian army.

Damascus and Tel Aviv are negotiating to reach a security agreement, but Syria first requires the conditions on the map to return to what they were before December 8, 2024.
Since 1967, Israel has occupied most of the strategic Golan Heights in Syria.

After the overthrow of Bashar al-Assad's regime on December 8, 2024, Israel declared the collapse of the 1974 disengagement agreement with Syria, and occupied the Syrian buffer zone.

Syrians say the ongoing Israeli violations limit their ability to restore stability and hinder government efforts to attract investments to improve the economic situation.
