Khaberni - Sheikh Mahmoud Abdel Sayed Al-Ma'aytah, father of the martyr Colonel Sa'ed Al-Ma'aytah, wrote:
On September 18 of each year, the covenant is renewed between the Jordanians and martyrdom, loyalty to the martyrs who fought the battle of honor and dignity in defense of the homeland, and in liberating its stronghold when terrorists attempted to desecrate the land of the fortress and tamper with the security of the homeland and the safety of its citizens. The decisive response showed that souls ascend generously to their creator when sacrificed for the homeland, and that blood becomes fuel for the lamps of martyrdom and guarding the sanctuary, embodying the truest representation of the holy verse (Of the believers are men who are true to what they pledged to Allah; some of them have met their obligation, and some of them are still waiting, but they have never changed [their commitment]).
Peace upon your souls, O Sa'ed, who still guard the borders, and peace upon you, my son, as you lead the martyrs, and peace upon the Lion of the Fortress as it roars in its flanks that nothing surpasses the security of the nation, and peace upon you, hero Colonel, who has provided a lesson in pride and dignity written with the blood of martyrdom in the annals of history, to be lessons for generations in the meanings of sacrifice, redemption, valor, and heroism for those who seek greatness and aspire to the abodes of martyrdom, and you and your companions inscribe our contemporary history with letters from your noble blood that bravery, heroism, and valor are behavior and a path for free Jordanians, and they are not merely concepts written in books, and you are those who have read and embodied and translated the words of Ibn Al-Qaysarani into actions:
(These are real intentions, not just claims of heroism... And these are true honors, not merely what books say.)
Peace upon you, O Lion of the Fortress, as you dwell in the den of martyrdom and pride among those who are alive in the presence of their Lord, they are provided for, and peace upon your daughters Kindah and Zeina, young buds of joy blossoming in the terrains of our homeland every day, whom you have bequeathed the meanings of victory and pride to all Jordanians, and reflected on their cheeks the image of the martyred hero Lion of the Fortress, and sparkling in their eyes the brilliance of the hero martyr's medals.
