Khaberni - The Saudi Interior Ministry announced the arrest of an Egyptian driver and two Yemeni nationals who violated border security during their transportation in the Asir region, and referred them to the relevant authorities and the public prosecution.
The ministry clarified that the General Directorate of Mujahideen patrols in the Asir region arrested a resident of Egyptian nationality for transporting in his vehicle Yemeni nationals who violated the border security system, pointing to their detention and the legal procedures taken against them, and referring the offending Yemenis to the competent authority, and the Egyptian to the public prosecution.
The spokesman for the administration confirmed that anyone who facilitates the entry of persons violating the kingdom's border security system, or their transportation within it, or provides them with shelter or offers them any help or service in any way, exposes themselves to penalties that may reach up to 15 years in prison, and a financial fine of up to one million Saudi Riyals, in addition to confiscation of the transport means and the housing used for sheltering, and defamation.
The spokesman explained, "This crime is considered one of the major crimes that warrant detention, and breaches honor and trust."
