Khaberni - The Iraqi Ministry of Interior issued a statement warning against engaging in the hobby of hunting (locally known as "Al-Maqnas") without obtaining the necessary official permits from the relevant authorities, in Iraq and Kuwait.
The statement confirmed that the ministry noticed repeated violations of hunting without licenses, which necessitated taking legal action against the violators. It emphasized that these measures will be applied to the offenders even upon their return to the country.
The ministry also clarified that the Iraqi authorities will, according to the law, confiscate vehicles, weapons, birds, and equipment used in the unlicensed hunting process, in addition to applying legal penalties to those who practice hunting without an official permit.
This intensification comes within the framework of the Iraqi government's concern to regulate the hobby of hunting and to preserve wildlife and environmental resources, and to limit random practices that may pose a risk to public safety or violate local and international laws related to wildlife.
