Khaberni - A video clip topped the social media sites in Saudi Arabia in recent hours, documenting a heroic moment of a mother grabbing her child who was dangling from the house window on the third floor, until the civil defense teams arrived.
According to comments accompanying the video, a neighbor noticed a child dangling from the balcony in a dangerous scene, and immediately contacted the civil defense. When the specialized teams arrived, they found the mother holding her child inside the room, unable to call and ask for help, but she never let go of the child for a moment.
Upon investigation and verification, it was revealed that the incident was real but occurred on January 29, 2020, and was not recent as suggested by the circulated video.
The official accounts of the Saudi Civil Defense confirmed at that time that their teams had successfully rescued a 6-year-old child who was trapped outside a window fence in Al-Quds neighborhood and appeared about to fall.
The Civil Defense accounts posted pictures of the rescue, where the civil defense men lowered the child using a ladder truck, and they confirmed that the child was in good health and was not harmed.
It appears that a user exploited the original rescue pictures to generate a video using artificial intelligence technology, causing the incident to resurface and appear as if it had occurred recently, although it dates back to previous years.
