Khaberni - A spokesperson for Venezuelan opposition leader and Nobel Peace Prize laureate Maria Corina Machado said on Wednesday that she is fine, despite suffering a back injury during her recent escape from Venezuela.
Machado sustained a spinal fracture while fleeing her country on a small boat last week to receive the award in Oslo.
A spokesperson for her stated on (X) that the opposition leader with a Nobel "is in good condition and is currently attending medical appointments with a specialist to ensure her quick and complete recovery."
He added that she "is no longer in Oslo." He did not mention her whereabouts.
Machado went to Norway in defiance of a travel ban imposed by Venezuelan authorities ten years ago, and after spending more than a year in hiding, but she arrived too late to attend the official award ceremony last week.
