Khaberni - US President Donald Trump said he would not allow anyone to breach the siege on Venezuela, following his earlier order on Wednesday to impose a blockade on all "sanctioned oil tankers" heading to Venezuela. In the meantime, the US House of Representatives voted on resolutions to restrict Trump’s campaign on Venezuela.
In a new escalation, Trump imposed a comprehensive blockade on the entry and exit of sanctioned oil tankers to and from Venezuela, and declared the regime of Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro a terrorist organization.
This move came after Trump announced last week that the United States had detained an oil tanker off the coast of Venezuela, in an unusual step following the deployment of US military forces in the area.
Trump said yesterday, Wednesday, that he would not allow anyone to breach the siege on Venezuela unless authorized, and claimed that Venezuela had taken American oil and that he wants to retrieve it after having expelled American companies from its territory.
The American president also claimed in statements on his platform Truth Social that Venezuela uses oil to fund drug smuggling and other crimes, and said that the shock they will receive will be unprecedented until they return the oil, land, and assets they stole from the US, according to his expression.
Trump threatened: "Ground attacks are coming soon, but he has not disclosed any details about their locations."
Attempt to Restrict Trump
Meanwhile, on Wednesday, the House of Representatives voted on two resolutions aimed at limiting Trump’s authority to use military force against drug cartels and Venezuela.
The Democrats were forced to conduct the vote using “war powers” resolutions at a time when Trump escalated his threats against Venezuela, while Congress questioned how the US military managed a campaign that led to the destruction of 25 ships allegedly carrying drugs, killing at least 95 people.
Under the legislation, if it becomes law, Trump’s administration will need to obtain authorization from Congress before continuing attacks on gangs considered terrorist organizations in the Western Hemisphere or launching an attack on Venezuela itself.
