Computer Without a Processor NexDock Reveals a Laptop that Fully Relies on Your Smartphone

Khaberni - As flagship smartphones have become capable of delivering performance that rivals traditional computers, NexDock has unveiled its latest device that redefines the concept of a laptop.

The new NexDock 6 is not a laptop in the traditional sense, as it comes without a processor and relies entirely on the power of a smartphone or portable gaming devices to operate.

"NexDock" targets users who want a desktop computer-like experience, benefiting from desktop modes provided by some phones, such as Samsung's flagship phones with DeX or the latest Pixel phones from "Google," according to a report published by "gizmochina" and reviewed by "Al Arabiya Business".

A larger screen and enhanced user experience
The most notable feature of NexDock 6 is the new 14-inch WUXGA screen with a resolution of 1920x1200 pixels and a 16:10 aspect ratio, featuring touch support and a brightness of up to 400 nits, full coverage of the sRGB color space, plus a layer specifically designed to reduce blue light.

The company has completely redesigned the touchpad to address one of the biggest weaknesses in previous versions.

According to NexDock, the new touchpad provides more precise response and better support for multi-touch gestures, with a clear improvement in ignoring unintended touches, whether used with Android or Windows, Linux, and SteamOS systems.

Stronger battery and practical features
The sound system has seen limited improvement, with 2-watt speakers, while the battery capacity is 38 watt-hours, sufficient for between six and seven hours of actual use at medium brightness.

Charging support is one of the most practical additions, as the USB-C port can charge the connected phone with up to 5V/2A power, meaning the phone can maintain its charge or even gain power while in use, compared to the previous generation that offered weaker charging.

Price and availability
NexDock 6 is priced at $229 including shipping and taxes in supported countries, and is currently being shipped from Hong Kong to over 30 countries around the world, including the United States, Europe, Asia, and Oceania.

The company confirmed that local stock in the United States will arrive at the beginning of 2026.

With this release, "NexDock" continues to bet on the idea of a “processor-less laptop,” targeting users seeking a practical and lightweight solution reliant on just one device: the smartphone.
