Khaberni - Haider Al-Zaben, the former Director-General of the Standards and Metrology Institution, issued a warning to Jordanian citizens regarding proposed amendments to the standards and metrology law.
Al-Zaben said in a video clip: Dr. Omar Razzaz's government has amended the law to allow the importation of goods and products that do not comply with technical rules, which could adversely affect health and public safety, and are not safe for use.
He added that the amendment also allows products to be marketed without indicating the country of origin.
Al-Zaben considered that these amendments would help in "normalizing" Israeli goods in the Jordanian market, noting that Jordanians reject normalization and do not buy Israeli products.
He confirmed that the amended law is currently presented to the House of Representatives.
