Khaberni - The Syrian Internal Security Forces in Damascus Province arrested a suspect linked to the terrorist organization ISIS, during a security operation that targeted a hideout affiliated with the organization in the Dammar neighborhood of Damascus city.
The commander of the Internal Security in Damascus Province, Brigadier General Osama Muhammad Khair Atika, stated in a statement published by the Syrian Ministry of Interior's channel on Telegram: "Our security units, in cooperation with the General Intelligence Directorate, carried out a precise operation targeting a hideout affiliated with the terrorist organization ISIS in the Dammar neighborhood of Damascus city, based on reliable intelligence information and precise field data."
Brigadier General Atika added: "The operation resulted in the arrest of one of the elements linked to the terrorist organization at the site, and the confiscation of explosive devices prepared for use, in addition to various weapons and ammunition, suicide drones, and explosive materials used in equipping these drones for explosive purposes."
Brigadier General Atika continued: "The confiscated items were seized and the arrested individual was referred to the competent authorities to complete the investigations, in preparation for referring him to the competent court to take the necessary legal actions against him."
Brigadier General Atika explained that this operation confirms the security agencies' ability to deal with terrorist threats and protect the security and stability of the homeland and its citizens.
