Khaberni - FIFA stated that fans of the national teams qualified for the World Cup in North America will benefit from a special pricing category that offers a fixed price of $60 per ticket for all tournament games, totaling 104 matches, including the final, in a move aimed at facilitating fan travel between host cities.
The 2026 World Cup will be the largest edition ever since the tournament started in 1930, due to an increase in the number of teams to 48 teams instead of 32, with a total of 104 matches instead of 64 in previous editions.
The games will be held in 16 cities across the three countries of Canada, the United States, and Mexico.
FIFA explained in a statement released yesterday (Tuesday) that this category will be designated for "fans of the qualified teams," with each national association involved managing the selection and distribution process, according to Reuters.
It added: "Each participating national association will determine its own eligibility criteria and oversee the related application process, provided that these tickets are allocated exclusively to fans of its national team."
FIFA mentioned that 20 million ticket requests have been recorded so far during the current sales phase with a random draw system "which started on December 11 and will remain open until Tuesday, January 13, 2026."
It added: "The timing of fans' registration during the registration period will have no impact on their chances of successfully obtaining tickets."
FIFA noted that it will provide "a waiver of administrative fees when processing refunds for unsuccessful applications" for fans who applied through their national associations' allocations and whose teams did not advance to the knockout stages.
The upcoming edition, to be held between June 11 and July 19, 2026, is seeing increased ticket purchase interest since the announcement of the match schedule, timings, and locations.
