Khaberni - Prime Minister Jaafar Hassan, today Wednesday, met the Secretary-General of the Arab League Ahmed Abu al-Gheit, during his participation in the activities of the forty-fifth session of the Council of Arab Ministers for Social Affairs currently taking place in the capital #Amman.
The meeting discussed a number of issues related to enhancing joint Arab action, especially in response to the developments in the region and the efforts made in this regard.
The Prime Minister affirmed Jordan's appreciation and support for the efforts undertaken by the Arab League, including enhancing the social protection system, noting that Jordan, which hosts the permanent headquarters of the Arab Center for the Studies of Social Policies and the Eradication of Multidimensional Poverty, will provide the necessary support to enable the center to perform its duties.
In turn, the Secretary-General of the Arab League emphasized the importance of the anticipated "Amman Statement," which is expected to be issued at the conclusion of the conference today in supporting areas of Arab social work, praising Jordan's efforts in enhancing joint Arab action.
The meeting was attended by the Minister of Social Development Wafaa Bani Mustafa and the Assistant Secretary-General of the Arab League, Ambassador Hossam Zaki.
