Khaberni - This morning, Wednesday, the Israeli army bombed various areas of the Gaza Strip, in conjunction with a limited incursion by its military vehicles northeast of Deir al-Balah, while the civil defense recovered 6 Palestinians, including two children, after a house collapsed on them at the al-Shati camp due to heavy rains in the sector.
The Anadolu Agency reported from eyewitnesses that Israeli artillery bombed southeast of Khan Younis in southern Gaza Strip, amid gunfire from Israeli vehicles in the area.
The witnesses added that the artillery shelling also targeted the area near Morag axis north of the city of Rafah in southern Gaza Strip.
In the middle of the Strip, Israeli military vehicles made a limited incursion northeast of Deir al-Balah, accompanied by a military bulldozer that carried out land-grading activities, amid intense gunfire.
Israeli artillery also shelled areas east of Jabalia camp in northern Gaza Strip, concurrent with gunfire from Israeli vehicles east of Gaza City.
Since the ceasefire agreement came into effect, Israel has committed 813 violations in the Gaza Strip, with bombardment, gunfire, and demolition operations, resulting in the martyrdom of 400 Palestinians since October 11 last year, 95% of them civilians, according to a statement by the Islamic Resistance Movement (Hamas) on Tuesday.
Recovery of 6 Palestinians
On another hand, Today, Wednesday, civil defense teams recovered 6 Palestinians, including two children, after a house roof collapsed on them in al-Shati camp west of Gaza City, due to heavy rains accompanying the low-pressure system affecting the sector.
The civil defense stated in a release that their teams were able to save 6 Palestinians from under the rubble of the collapsed house, indicating that their health condition is good.
The statement mentioned that the house consists of 3 floors and that the collapse affected only the upper roof, amid ongoing rainy weather and the impact of another night of the low-pressure system.
A low-pressure system has been affecting Gaza since Monday evening, the second in less than a week, amid significant exacerbation of the humanitarian situation as thousands of homes and tents are damaged.
On Tuesday, several Palestinians were injured and others were missing due to the collapse of a building damaged from the Israeli genocidal war, amid stormy weather accompanying the low-pressure system, according to the civil defense.
The government media office in Gaza reported that 15 Palestinians, including 7 children, were martyred due to the collapse of at least 14 houses, caused by the low-pressure systems and severe cold that has turned the lives of the displaced into a real tragedy.
Additionally, a partial collapse occurred in a house belonging to the Skeik family east of Gaza City, where the upper floors collapsed without recording any injuries, while the Ministry of Health announced the death of an infant due to severe cold.
The suffering of the people in the Gaza Strip worsens with each wave of heavy rain that floods their tents and damages and destroys what remains of their homes.
The First Low-Pressure System
The first low-pressure system, named Byron, caused the death of 14 Palestinians and full or partial damage to 53,000 tents, according to official data, exacerbating the suffering of the Palestinians.
During the low-pressure system, the government media office reported the collapse of at least 13 buildings, damaged from the Israeli genocidal war, on the heads of their inhabitants who had taken refuge in them to shelter from the rain and cold.
The General Directorate of Civil Defense in Gaza stated that it registered hundreds of homes as dangerous and unfit for habitation, after being targeted and bombed by Israel during the genocidal war.
It noted that a decision was made for immediate demolition of 3 homes today, Wednesday, in the areas of the tunnel and al-Zaytoun east of Gaza City, after evacuating their residents in the presence of specialized engineers.
This suffering continues amid Israel's failure to fulfill its obligations stipulated in the ceasefire agreement currently in effect since October 10 last year, and its humanitarian protocol, including the entry of shelter materials, 300,000 tents, and mobile homes, as repeatedly confirmed by the government media office in Gaza.
The Israeli genocidal war in Gaza, which began on October 8, 2023, with American support and lasted two years, resulted in more than 70,000 martyrs and over 171,000 wounded.
