Khaberni - Professor Dr. Mohammad Al-Widian, President of the Arab University of Amman, received in his office a delegation from Bireen Municipality headed by the President of Bireen Municipality Committee, Basha Ahmad Al-Farahid, within the framework of enhancing cooperation and joint coordination between the two sides, contributing to serving the local community and supporting the path of comprehensive development, exploring ways of cooperation in various fields, implementing prominent training programs and specialized workshops, involving university students in community initiatives and projects that serve the Bireen area, as well as exchanging technical and academic expertise and consultations, and studying the possibility of conducting research and field studies that contribute to the development of municipal services and improving infrastructure.
During the meeting, Dr. Al-Widian, with the presence of Dr. Samer Ayasra, Director of the Center for Innovation and Entrepreneurship, Dr. Imad Al-Mulla, faculty member at the Business College, Mr. Yousuf Al-Khaled from the Center for Innovation and Entrepreneurship, Mr. Anas Kaso, Assistant Director of the Media and Public Relations Department at the Arab University of Amman, and from Bireen Municipality: Engineer Kamal Al-Khalaileh, Director of Engineering Works, Engineer Majd Al-Khalaileh, Director of the Community Development and Women Empowerment Unit, and Engineer Ahmad Faleh Al-Ghweiri, Director of the Mayor’s Office of Bireen Municipality, overviewed the vision of Arab University of Amman, its mission, different colleges and specializations, highlighted the various initiatives and activities implemented by the university with governmental and local and international community institutions, in addition to the advanced position the university has achieved in global rankings, and affirmed the university’s keenness on networking with local community institutions and building effective partnerships with municipalities, which plays an important role in linking academic aspects with practical application and employing scientific expertise to serve developmental issues.
On his part, Mr. Al-Farahid praised the role played by Arab University of Amman in supporting the local community and preparing qualified cadres, expressing Bireen Municipality’s aspiration to build a sustainable cooperation with the university and implement shared ideas and projects that benefit the citizens and enhance local development in Bireen Municipality,
develop the services provided to the citizens, enhance youth and student participation in community work, which positively reflects on the local development path in the Bireen area
In turn, Dr. Ayasra affirmed that the experience of the Center for Innovation and Entrepreneurship at the Arab University of Amman with Bireen Municipality during the Global Entrepreneurship Week presented a successful and distinctive model of purposeful institutional cooperation, pointing out that this experience reflected the importance of partnership between universities and local institutions in supporting entrepreneurship and enhancing the culture of innovation, noting that the events implemented in cooperation with the municipality witnessed significant community interaction.
Both parties confirmed that this visit represents the beginning of ongoing cooperation and subsequent visits between Arab University of Amman and Bireen Municipality, aiming to deepen the partnership and make optimal use of the capabilities and resources available to both parties, which positively reflects on the local community, and the parties emphasized the importance of continuing communication and coordination to implement the proposed ideas and initiatives, achieve shared goals, and enhance public interest.
