Khaberni - The Cabinet approved in its session held on Wednesday, chaired by Prime Minister Jafar Hassan, an amended system for the fees and service charges for the Securities Commission for the year 2025.
The system is intended to enable the Amman Stock Exchange company to perform its tasks and responsibilities, through reducing the trading fee and the annual license renewal fee collected from the Amman Stock Exchange; this will positively reflect on its share of trading revenues and contribute to the interest of capital market institutions.
The system’s approval comes in light of the significant improvement observed in the performance of the Amman financial market, as the Amman Stock Exchange recorded its highest levels in the past two months for the first time in over 15 years, with the index surpassing the 3,000-point barrier for the first time since 2008.
The Cabinet also decided to approve the justification for the draft system of media spokespersons in ministries, institutions, and governmental departments for the year 2025; as a prelude to sending it to the Legislation and Opinion Bureau to complete the issuance procedures according to regulations, where the draft system will be published on the bureau’s website to gather opinions about it.
The draft system represents a qualitative addition in efforts to modernize the governmental communication system, in alignment with the comprehensive visions of political, economic, and administrative modernization.
The draft system aims to establish a legislative framework regulating the work of media spokespersons; representing a significant step in modernizing and developing the tasks, powers, and responsibilities associated with them, in addition to unifying and defining communication and follow-up mechanisms, and enhancing coordination between ministries and institutions.
The draft system is expected to make an institutional impact by developing the performance and work of the network of media spokespersons, under the supervision of the Ministry of Government Communication, as the ministry will become the main technical reference for media spokespersons.
According to the draft system, the technical association of the media spokesperson with their minister or general manager, as well as with the Ministry of Government Communication, will be determined, while maintaining their administrative association with their minister or general manager; providing a methodical work environment that facilitates procedures and handling of media developments.
The draft system also seeks to institutionalize the process of periodic evaluation of the media spokesperson, based on measurable performance indicators monitored by the Ministry of Government Communication, with evaluations to be conducted at least semi-annually, in cooperation with the General Service and Administration Authority.
The draft system aims to enhance government communication tools and prepare a professional and professional regulatory environment that supports efforts to consolidate transparency, ensure accurate information reaches the public, and combat rumors and misleading news.
The draft system includes clear work procedures such as preparing regular media plans, including crisis management, sustaining communication with media outlets, responding to media inquiries, monitoring published content, and documenting the link between the department and the targeted public groups using all available and feasible means.
The Cabinet also decided to approve the justification for the draft of an amended system for the administrative organization of the Ministry of Health for the year 2025; as a preamble to sending it to the Legislation and Opinion Bureau for its approval according to regulations.
The draft system is in line with the Ministry of Health's progress in the legislative procedures for the Medical Committees System for the year 2025, and the system includes the creation of a Directorate for Medical Committees, which necessitates its establishment in the Ministry's administrative organization system; to ensure the fulfillment of work requirements and public interest.
Furthermore, the proposed amendments will determine the tasks of the director of the newly established Directorate and its operating staff to ensure the completion of technical and administrative tasks efficiently.
