The Public Security Directorate urges the necessity of taking necessary preventative measures and adopting proper behavior due to the Kingdom being affected by an extremely cold Siberian air mass, starting from Wednesday morning, by following the following tips and guidelines:
■ Stay away from the sides of valleys, places of torrent formation, and low-lying areas, especially in the southern regions including the Southern Jordan Valley and Aqaba.
■ Stay away from water accumulation sites and do not risk crossing roads either on foot or by vehicle if the water level rises.
■ Be cautious due to the possible fall of limited snow showers during the morning hours, which may sometimes be mixed with rain.
■ Drive carefully on roads that experience rainfall.
■ Use heating devices safely and properly, varying types, ensuring not to refuel a heater while it is lit, plus never leave it ignited while asleep, and ensure to ventilate the home occasionally to renew the air and reduce the buildup of harmful gases.
■ Be cautious due to reduced horizontal visibility from fog and formation of ice, especially during the late night hours and early morning hours over high mountainous areas and parts of the desert.
■ Follow weather bulletins issued by the relevant authorities and do not hesitate to call the unified emergency phone number 911 if necessary.
