Mossad Chief We Must Ensure Iran Does Not Resume Its Nuclear Program

Khaberni - Mossad Chief David Barnea said on Tuesday that Israel must ensure Iran does not restart its nuclear program, six months after bombing its Tehran nuclear facilities during a 12-day war.

During a ceremony honoring Mossad operatives in Jerusalem, Barnea said, "The idea of continuing to develop a nuclear bomb still beats in their hearts. It is our responsibility to ensure that the nuclear project, which was severely damaged, is not reactivated, with close cooperation with the Americans."

In June, over the course of 12 days, Israel targeted nuclear facilities and military and civilian sites, assassinated senior military leaders, including the commander of the Revolutionary Guards and the chief of staff, and prominent nuclear scientists, and Iran responded with a series of missile attacks that caused unprecedented destruction in several Israeli cities.

Concurrently with the Israeli attack, the United States bombed three Iranian nuclear facilities, and President Donald Trump spoke of completely destroying the Iranian nuclear program, but intelligence assessments from Washington cast doubt on that.
