Khaberni - The Directorate of Endowments in Ma'an Governorate announced the completion of the implementation of the Unified Adhan System in 240 mosques across various areas of the governorate; aiming to unify the timing and sound of the adhan in all the mosques, through satellite broadcasting devices.
The director of Ma'an Endowments, Basem Al-Khashman, explained that the Unified Adhan System has been implemented in all districts and sub-districts of the governorate, except for the Shobak sub-district, which will be included in the system in the upcoming period, after the completion of the special technical broadcasting equipment.
He pointed out that the adhan is transmitted from the Grand Mosque of Ma'an to the mosques within the same time zone, while the adhan in the Petra sub-district is broadcast from the Grand Mosque of Wadi Musa, with the Shobak sub-district, which has 40 mosques, to be linked later to the Petra sub-district due to the matching time zones.
Al-Khashman mentioned that the idea of the Unified Adhan relies on broadcasting the adhan with the voices of approved muezzins possessing beautiful tones, where the adhan is raised from a specific mosque and broadcast live to the satellite, and from there to other mosques which receive it through receivers connected to sound amplifiers, 5 times daily to signify the entry of prayer times.
He affirmed that the implementation of the Unified Adhan System has contributed to addressing many issues, most notably accurate timing of prayers and eliminating cases of early or late calls to prayer, in addition to unifying the beauty of sound.
He emphasized that the implementation of the Unified Adhan System does not mean dispensing with the muezzins in the mosques, confirming their continued role in opening the mosques, operating the receivers, and making the adhan immediately in case of broadcasting failure, in addition to raising the adhan for Friday prayers, tied to the preacher's ascent to the pulpit.
