The new brain implant promises a qualitative leap in the interaction between humans and computers and expands the range of treatment options for neurological conditions such as epilepsy, spinal cord injuries, amyotrophic lateral sclerosis, stroke, and blindness, aiding in controlling seizures and restoring motor, speech, and vision functions.

This is achieved by providing a high-output informational link, with minimal surgical intervention, directly from and to the brain.

According to "Science Daily", the essence of this new system lies in its small size and its ability to transfer data at high speeds, where the thickness of the BISC implant is nearly the thickness of a human hair.

Other Medical Fields

Alongside supporting health systems with sophisticated tools for classifying and sorting data, artificial intelligence has provided several achievements to the medical field during 2025:

• Metabolic diseases and diabetes: Discovery of molecules in the gut (like TMA) that enhance insulin sensitivity, new ways to manage diabetes, and the search for new treatments for liver diseases.

• Neuroscience: Identifying new triggers for dementia (GPX4 enzyme mutation) and structural insights for epilepsy treatments.

• Infectious diseases: Ongoing concern about the H5N1 virus (avian influenza) and progress in developing vaccines, such as the National Institutes of Health trial for Lassa fever.
