Education Training 12thgrade students in factories starting from next April

Khaberni - The Secretary-General of the Ministry of Education for Vocational and Technical Education Affairs, Dr. Mohammed Gaith, confirmed today, Tuesday, that the ministry will begin implementing a work-based training program for 12th-grade students starting from mid-April.
He said during his sponsorship of the National Vocational and Technical Education Forum "Towards a Promising Future BTEC" organized by the Directorate of Education of the Northeastern Badia, that the students will engage in practical training within factories, companies, and private sector institutions for two months.
He explained that this approach is in line with the priorities of the Economic Modernization Vision and market labor demands, adding that the ministry aims to increase the percentage of students enrolled in vocational and technical education, emphasizing that vocational and technical education receives significant royal attention for its role in empowering youth and transforming them into effective productive forces that contribute to sustainable development.
He clarified that the ministry has been implementing a comprehensive development process for vocational and technical education since 2023, by applying the "BTEC" program based on tasks and practical projects, which is a global model implemented in more than 70 countries, and aims to provide students with real practical skills directly linked to the needs of the labor market.
Gaith highlighted that the program would enable students to gain real practical experience in the workplace and develop their technical and behavioral skills, and build clear professional orientations that help them make their future decisions after graduation with confidence and awareness.
On his part, the Director of Education of the Northeastern Badia, Dr. Abdullah Al-Sharafat, pointed out that the directorate aims to support and expand the scope of vocational and technical education to include most schools in the Badia, according to the available resources, noting that work is underway to introduce new vocational and technical specialties that meet the needs of the region and the local labor market.
The forum included presentations on the vocational and technical education specialties available in the schools of the Northeastern Badia, alongside an exhibition where students of technical specialties presented models of their innovations and applied projects.
