Khaberni - The College of Medical and Health Sciences at Al-Ahliyya Amman University participated in the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA) conference in Washington, where faculty member Layla Qanawati represented the college, presenting two research papers and a research discussion session during the conference.
Qanawati's participation in the centennial edition of the (ASHA) conference was a distinctive scientific experience, where her research session was chosen among the "centennial" sessions selected by the organizing committee from thousands of entries, in recognition of her futuristic approach and her ability to impact the development of professional practices.
This selection was based on criteria that include anticipating future challenges in communication disorders, contributing to shaping the profession’s trends, and leading modernization initiatives, where this participation was highlighted under the banner of Al-Ahliyya Amman University and the university’s Center for Hearing and Speech.
The conference witnessed extensive meetings among specialists from various countries, providing valuable opportunities for international networking, exchange of expertise, and acquainting with the latest technologies and devices used in treating speech and language disorders.
Qanawati also took part in the meeting of Arab professionals within ASHA, aiming to enhance cooperation and work towards establishing an Arab network within the multicultural groups of the association.
