Khaberni - Petra University celebrated the qualification of the Jordanian national football team, "Al-Nashama", to the final match of the 2025 Arab Cup, after its victory over its Saudi counterpart with a single goal in the semifinal round.
The President of Petra University, Professor Dr. Rami Abdel Rahim, said that this historic achievement instills pride in all Jordanians, reflecting the determination of Jordanian youth and their insistence on excellence. He added that the university supports the youthful and sports energies that elevate the name of Jordan in Arab and international forums, wishing the team success in the final match.
Petra University club organized an event to support the national team, which included a live screening of the match proceedings at the club’s campus location. The event was attended by the Dean of Student Affairs and the club president, Professor Dr. Iyad Al-Malah, along with several members of the faculty and administrative staff, amidst an enthusiastic atmosphere.
"Al-Nashama" secured the qualifying spot with a goal scored by player Nizar Al-Rashdan in the sixty-sixth minute with a skillful header, capitalizing on a cross from his teammate Mahmoud Murdi. The match, which took place at the "Al-Bayt" Stadium in Doha, was attended by His Royal Highness Crown Prince Hussein bin Abdullah II and several princes.
The national team will meet its Moroccan counterpart in the final match next Thursday, which also qualified after defeating the UAE team with three goals to none.
