Khaberni - Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign and Expatriate Affairs Ayman Al-Safadi, on Monday, received a member of the Political Bureau of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China and the Foreign Minister of the People's Republic of China, Wang Yi, in a meeting that discussed developing strategic partnership relations between the two friendly countries and regional developments.
Al-Safadi and Yi discussed ways and mechanisms to enhance bilateral relations and prospects for cooperation between the two countries in various vital sectors, especially economic, commercial, investment, knowledge economy, technology, and tourism, to serve the interests of the two countries and peoples, following the directives of the two friendly countries' leadership.
The ministers emphasized the importance of activating the agreements and memoranda of understanding signed between the two countries by putting operative steps to implement and expand them to achieve common goals and interests of the two friendly countries. They also agreed to hold annual political consultations between the foreign ministries of Jordan and China.
Al-Safadi and Yi discussed the developments in Gaza and the occupied West Bank, where they affirmed the necessity of adhering to a ceasefire in the sector, allowing sufficient and sustainable humanitarian aid into Gaza, and linking the achievement of stability to a clear political horizon embodying an independent Palestinian state with sovereignty over the June 4, 1967 lines and its capital in East Jerusalem, in accordance with the resolutions of international legitimacy and the Arab Peace Initiative.
Al-Safadi stressed the need to halt the serious escalation and the illegitimate Israeli actions in the occupied West Bank and the ongoing violations of the existing historical and legal situation in Jerusalem and its holy sites.
Al-Safadi valued China's supportive positions for the Palestinian people's right to freedom and a state based on the two-state solution.
In turn, Yi appreciated the pivotal role of the Kingdom in establishing stability and achieving peace in the region and its efforts in humanitarian relief in Gaza.
The ministers agreed to continue cooperation and coordination regarding the development of bilateral relations and issues of common interest.

In response to an invitation from the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign and Expatriate Affairs of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan, Ayman Al-Safadi, a member of the Political Bureau of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China and the Foreign Minister of the People's Republic of China, Wang Yi, visited Jordan on December 14 and 15, 2025.
The two sides affirmed their leaderships' keenness on enhancing cooperation, which positively reflects on the two friendly peoples, praised the level of cooperation in all fields, and expressed their readiness to continue dialogue and coordination regarding the expansion of cooperation and the achievement of their developmental policy goals.
They also discussed deepening cooperation in areas of economy, trade, infrastructure, energy, defense, transport, judiciary, and other traditional fields and exploring potential cooperation in technological innovation, communications technology, digital economy, artificial intelligence, green energy, and other new fields, as well as expanding communication and cooperation in the fields of culture, tourism, media, higher education, educational and student exchanges, and intellectual institutions, and discussing measures to facilitate people's movement between the two countries.
The Jordanian side reiterated its commitment to the One-China policy, and that the government of the People's Republic of China is the only legitimate government representing China as a whole, and Taiwan is an integral part of China's territory.
The two sides emphasized the importance of people-to-people interactions through culture and the arts, as well as parliamentary cooperation.
Both sides noted effective cooperation between the two countries in various multilateral diplomatic platforms and affirmed the importance of continuing to enhance coordination and cooperation. The Jordanian side expressed its appreciation for the significant initiatives presented by President Xi Jinping.

The two sides discussed regional situations and developments in the Gaza Strip and the occupied West Bank, and affirmed the need to achieve a comprehensive and permanent ceasefire, to urgently and sustainably introduce aid to the sector to address the humanitarian disaster. They also emphasized the necessity of linking the ceasefire agreement's execution to a real political effort leading to the establishment of an independent, sovereign Palestinian state on the June 4, 1967 lines with its capital in East Jerusalem, according to relevant international legitimacy resolutions.
The Jordanian side highly appreciated the initiatives and visions presented by President Xi Jinping regarding the resolution of the Palestinian issue and the announcement of a new round of aid to Palestine. The Chinese side appreciated the efforts of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan in achieving security and stability in the region, its significant efforts in humanitarian relief in Gaza, and the importance of the Hashemite historical custodianship of the Islamic and Christian holy sites in occupied Jerusalem.
Both sides also emphasized the importance of the role played by the Arab-Chinese Cooperation Forum, a comprehensive platform for positive interaction between the Arab countries and China. The Jordanian side expressed its support for China's hosting of the second China-Arab Summit in 2026.
