Khaberni - Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates Ayman Safadi and Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan affirmed on Monday the necessity of fully committing to the ceasefire agreement in Gaza and initiating its second phase.
The ministers emphasized in a telephone call today the necessity for Israel to fulfill its commitments according to the agreement and international law, and to lift all restrictions imposed on the immediate and sufficient entry of humanitarian aid to the sector, which still suffers a humanitarian disaster due to the aggression and the ongoing Israeli prevention of adequate aid entry into Gaza.
Safadi and Fidan also warned of the dangers of the illegitimate Israeli actions in the occupied West Bank, which push towards an explosion of the situation and undermine all efforts of de-escalation and the chances of achieving a fair peace on the basis of the two-state solution, which is the only way to achieve security, stability, and lasting peace in the region.
The ministers also stressed the need to support the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees in the Near East (UNRWA) and reject all attempts to misuse the agency and prevent it from performing its significant irreplaceable humanitarian role.
Safadi and Fidan also discussed the situation in Syria and confirmed the need to stop Israeli aggressions on its land and sovereignty, and emphasized the continued joint efforts to support the Syrian government in its reconstruction efforts and ensure Syria's security, sovereignty, unity, and stability, and the rights and safety of all its citizens.
The ministers affirmed the depth of the brotherly relations between the two fraternal countries, and their mutual commitment to develop cooperation in various fields.
