4 Reasons Postponing Fadel Shakers Trial

Khaberni - The President of the Beirut Criminal Court, Judge Bilal Dannaoui, today, Monday, postponed the interrogation session of Lebanese artist Fadel Shaker and Ahmad Al Assir along with four other defendants to a later date, due to incomplete legal notifications for all parties involved and the absence of Shaker and Al Assir from the courthouse.

Reasons for the Postponement
According to judicial information, the postponement was anticipated due to a set of factors, the most prominent being the special security measures required to transfer Al Assir from Roumieh prison, in addition to the involvement of four other indicted individuals in the session, two of whom were previously released, while the other two remain at large, in addition to the ongoing strike by judicial assistants.

The same sources indicate that Fadel Shaker and Ahmad Al Assir had expressed their readiness to appear before the court and testify in the lawsuit filed against them by an official from Hezbollah's "Saraya" in Sidon, Hilal Hammoud, where they were scheduled to present their defenses and submit evidence proving their non-involvement in the attempted murder that is the subject of the judicial prosecution.

Shaker surrendered himself to the Lebanese army last October after a long period exceeding ten years, during which he remained hidden in one of the Palestinian camps, while he was sentenced to prison for charges related to terrorism.
