Khaberni - The Israeli occupation forces fired on a settler near the Kedumim settlement in the West Bank today, Monday, after they suspected he was a Palestinian attempting to carry out a stabbing operation.
The Hebrew site "Ynet" reported that "Israeli policemen suspected a young man (20 years old) suffering from a mental disorder, who arrived at the Kedumim settlement this morning, Monday, intending to carry out a stabbing attack against the Israeli army forces."
The site added that "the young man was shot and taken to the hospital in critical condition. The circumstances of the incident are still under investigation."
The occupation army stated in a statement that "following an attempted stabbing targeting Israeli soldiers in the Kedumim area, an Israeli soldier and a civilian fired to neutralize the attacker."
An initial report indicated that the attacker was an armed Israeli civilian with a knife, who approached the soldiers. The civilian was injured and taken for treatment. The circumstances of the incident are still under investigation."
Following the incident, the main gate of the Kedumim settlement was briefly closed, while security forces intensified their presence at the location.
