Syria expects to double its natural gas production by the end of 2026

Khaberni - Khaberni - Syrian Energy Minister, Mohammed Al-Bashir, announced that his country expects its natural gas production to rise to about 15 million cubic meters per day by the end of 2026.

This expectation is part of Syria's efforts, which have been exhausted by years of war, to boost its domestic energy supplies, as the country suffers from a severe shortage of energy and fuel after a conflict that lasted 14 years, inflicting severe damage to the infrastructure of the energy sector and significantly reducing production.

This target (15 million cubic meters) compares with the current production level of about 7 million cubic meters per day, which signifies an ambition to almost double the production within the next two years.

Minister Al-Bashir's announcement came during his participation in the ministerial meeting of the Organization of Arab Petroleum Exporting Countries (OAPEC), held in Kuwait City, where Arab energy ministers discuss developments in the oil and gas markets.
