Khaberni - Ahmed Al-Ahmad's account, the man who overcame one of the shooters at the Hanukkah celebration on one of the Sydney beaches in Australia, has collected $370,000 so far.

International media reported that a verified GoFundMe account was set up for Ahmed Al-Ahmad, a father of two aged 43. He was hospitalized with injuries after confronting an attacker on Bondi Beach and disarming him, but he is expected to recover.

It was confirmed that the funds are controlled by GoFundMe and will only be given to him personally.

It was noted that the donations so far exceed $370,000 and the goal is to reach $530,000.

Ahmed Al-Ahmad is the Muslim man who has come to be known in the media as the "Bondi Beach Hero" after he confronted one of the armed attackers during a Hanukkah celebration in Sydney and disarmed him.

Ahmed Al-Ahmad is about 43 years old, holds Australian nationality, is of Syrian descent, and owns a fruit stand in one of Sydney's suburbs. He was described in media coverage as an unarmed Muslim with no experience in firearms, and was there as a regular civilian before intervening.

Video footage showed him lunging at one of the attackers from behind during the shooting, and after a brief struggle, he managed to seize the rifle, causing the gunman to retreat and flee limping. Police, witness accounts, and Australian officials indicate that his intervention helped save many lives during the crowded celebration at Bondi Beach.

Ahmed was shot in the arm or hand during the intervention and underwent surgery, but his relatives confirmed that his condition is stable. He has been praised by the Australian Prime Minister and other officials; Trump also lauded him as a true hero, and his story has widely spread in the media and on social networks as an example of civilian courage that saved many lives.
