Official Announcement Within Days How Much Will Alwaleed bin Talal Pay to Acquire Al Hilal

Khaberni - Informed sources revealed today, Sunday, that the announcement of Prince Alwaleed bin Talal bin Abdulaziz, chairman of the board of Kingdom Holding Company, acquiring the Saudi club Al Hilal is in its final details.

According to the newspaper "Al Sharq Al Awsat," sources, which were not disclosed, stated that the deal would cost Prince Alwaleed bin Talal about two billion dollars (7.5 billion Saudi Riyals) amid a high level of reservation on the negotiated amounts, as most of it will be paid to the Saudi Public Investment Fund, one of the greatest sovereign funds in the world, and another amount to the Ministry of Sports, indicating that negotiations have been ongoing for about a year with only minor details left separating the prince from owning 100 percent of the club.

The supporting gold member will buy 75 percent of the sovereign fund's stake and the remaining 25 percent from the Ministry of Sports, entering 2026 with a new investment owner for the first time in history.

According to "Al Sharq Al Awsat," the historic and unprecedented deal in the history of sports in the kingdom is scheduled to be announced before the end of this December.

The sources point out that the Union Club owned by the Public Investment Fund is not close to divesting with the Public Investment Fund due to negotiations with many investors including Abdullah Saleh Kamel, his brother Muhyi, and others, and it may need more than 3 upcoming months, the same is true for Al Nasr and Al Ahli clubs.

The sources emphasized that there are no updates regarding the privatization of Al Shabab and Al Ittifaq clubs, as the offers have not reached an advanced stage and still need a long time, possibly until the end of next year.
