Details of the Upcoming Weather Depression Coming to Jordan on Monday Evening

Khaberni - Weather specialists at the Arab Weather Center reported that the Kingdom will experience a weather depression classified as second-degree intensity according to the depression intensity scale starting from the late hours of Monday.

The depression will be accompanied by the influx of a cold air mass to the region, described as the coldest since last spring. Consequently, the renewal of rainfall in various parts of the Kingdom is expected.

Monday (15/12/2025): Rain concentration and the risk of floods
A further decline in temperatures occurs on Monday, making the weather generally cold. By late afternoon, cloud cover increases and the chance for scattered rain showers gradually arises in several areas.

The rainfall will be more concentrated in the southern parts of the Kingdom (such as the Southern Jordan Valley, Karak, Tafilah, Ma'an, and Petra district).

It is not excluded that this rain could be heavy at times, leading to the flow of valleys and gullies, and possibly the formation of floods. Fog formation and reduced horizontal visibility over high mountainous areas are also expected.

Tuesday (16/12/2025): Further drop and cold in the south and east
Temperatures further decrease during Tuesday daytime, reaching around 10 degrees Celsius in the mountains including the capital, Amman.

The weather will continue to be partly to fully cloudy, with intermittent rain showers in many areas, with the chance of being heavy and causing valley flows and floods.

Tuesday night/Wednesday morning, a significant drop occurs with minimum temperatures ranging between 3-5 degrees Celsius.

While cloud quantities decrease, the chance of rain remains, especially concentrated in the south and east of the Kingdom, with rain accompanied by hail showers in some areas.

Wednesday (17/12/2025): Snow on the peaks of the Sharah and frost
The influence of the cold mass increases, and the maximum temperatures drop to between 8-9 degrees Celsius in the mountains.

It is likely that the precipitation will be in the form of snow showers or light snowfall on the peaks of the Sharah highlands, with the potential of hail showers in other areas.

Wednesday night/Thursday morning, the weather becomes extremely cold with temperatures dropping to between 3-5 degrees Celsius in the mountains, and frost formation is expected, especially in the high mountains and desert areas.
