Khaberni - The Director of Public Security, Major General Dr. Obaidallah Al-Muayta, met today, Sunday, with participants in the "Defense 23" course at the Royal Jordanian National Defense College during a lecture titled "The Strategy of Public Security and its Role in National Security".
Major General Al-Muayta emphasized during the lecture that the concept of national security, with its comprehensive contents, is based on the integration of roles among all national institutions in a manner that ensures the protection of the supreme national interests and maintains the security and stability of the state, pointing out the importance of the role played by the citizen as a major partner in the community security system.
The Director of Public Security stated that the developments and modernizations in the operational system of the Public Security Directorate, and the level of humanitarian and community services it provides, are the result of the support and attention it receives from His Majesty the Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces, King Abdullah II, just like other state institutions, including our brave armed forces - the Arab Army, which has reflected on our national journey that has become more advanced and modern.
Major General Al-Muayta pointed out that the concept of security is no longer limited to traditional security and police aspects, but now includes multiple areas such as cybersecurity, combatting cybercrime, and protecting vulnerable groups, alongside community awareness, where all these elements integrate to achieve national stability and sustainable development.
He explained that the Directorate works on developing its tools and means based on precise field studies and analyses, taking into account local and regional variations, and relies on a scientific approach in anticipating risks and facing challenges before they occur, within a framework of effective partnership with state institutions and civil society, contributing to enhancing community security and peace.
On his part, the commandant of the Royal Jordanian National Defence College, Brigadier General Imad Al-Batoush, appreciated the efforts made by the Public Security Directorate in various areas of its security work, and its prominent role in establishing the concept of comprehensive security and rapid response to various societal events.
At the end of the lecture, attended by a number of senior officers of Public Security, and the president and members of the teaching staff and students of the Defense 23 course, Major General Al-Muayta answered questions and inquiries from the audience.
