On the Anniversary of Hamas Launch AlHayya Our Weapon is a Legitimate Right and These Are Our Priorities

Khaberni - Khalil Al-Hayya, head of the Islamic Resistance Movement (Hamas) in the Gaza Strip, confirmed that "the Palestinian resistance and its weapon are a legitimate right guaranteed by international laws," and he set out the movement's and the national factions' priorities for the upcoming period in his speech on the 38th anniversary of Hamas' launch.

Moreover, Al-Hayya added in his speech that the weapon of resistance is a right for all peoples under occupation and is linked to the establishment of the Palestinian state, stating that we are "open to studying any proposals that preserve this right", affirming that the resistance has achieved several accomplishments, most notably breaking the myth of strategic reaction and claims of Israeli security superiority, leading to the collapse of the long-standing misleading and unjust Israeli narrative, in addition to complicating and retreating the normalization project.

Al-Hayya also called in his speech for the immediate formation of the Technocrat Committee to manage the Gaza Strip with independent Palestinians, confirming the movement's readiness to hand over complete operations in all fields and facilitate its tasks.

On the other hand, Al-Hayya mentioned that Hamas leadership has adopted work priorities during the next phase to face challenges and risks and how to deal with available opportunities. Among these priorities are completing the first phase of the ceasefire agreement in Gaza, which includes the introduction of aid and equipment necessary for rehabilitating hospitals, health centers, and infrastructure, and opening the Rafah crossing in both directions.

Hamas has also prioritized implementing the second phase of the agreement in order to achieve a complete withdrawal of the Israeli occupation and start reconstruction projects. Al-Hayya stated that Hamas, along with the national Palestinian factions, is committed to the agreement and reaffirms its position rejecting any form of guardianship or mandate over the Palestinian people.

He also noted that the movement reaffirms its agreement with the Palestinian factions on the issues included in the clauses of the plan of the American President Donald Trump regarding Gaza.

Joint Action

On the other hand, the head of Hamas reaffirmed in his speech that the role of the "Peace Council" is to "care for the implementation of the ceasefire agreement, finance, and supervise the reconstruction of the Gaza Strip," emphasizing in the same context that the role of international forces should be limited to maintaining the ceasefire and separating the sides along the borders of the Gaza Strip without having any tasks inside the sector or interfering in its internal affairs.

While mentioning the continuous Israeli breaches of the agreement and obstruction of aid and continuing destruction, killing, and assassinations, the latest of which was yesterday targeting the leader Raed Saad of the Al-Qassam Brigades, the military wing of Hamas, Al-Hayya urged the mediators and especially the principal guarantor, the American administration and President Trump, to work on obliging the occupation to respect the agreement and adhere to its implementation without jeopardizing its collapse.

In the internal Palestinian affair, the Hamas official emphasized "the importance of joint action with the forces and factions to achieve national unity, and moving with various forces and factions to build a comprehensive national reference, aiming to restore rights, especially the right to self-determination, and establish an independent Palestinian state with Jerusalem as its capital."

He considered that "the issue of prisoners in enemy jails is a priority for the movement and resistance factions, alongside working to improve their humanitarian lives and ending criminal behavior against them on the path to their full liberation."

Regarding the humanitarian suffering in the Gaza Strip, the top Hamas official called for intensive action for relief and to end the suffering of the Palestinian people in Gaza and put an end to the humanitarian crises resulting from the genocide war so that the tragedy does not recur as happened in the last low-pressure area that hit the Gaza Strip and Palestine, as he said.

He also referred to the suffering of the Palestinians in the West Bank and the 48 territories, stating that "the Zionist enemy is quick to impose its project to seize the land amidst the silence of the international community".

On another note, the Hamas official urged to legally pursue the occupation, politically isolate it, and try its leaders before international courts for committing war crimes and crimes against humanity against the Palestinian people and the peoples of the region.
