Revealing 5 Previous Choking Incidents Due to AlShamoosah in Madaba

Khaberni - Revealed the Director General of Civil Defense, Brigadier Nasser Al-Sweilmeen, that civil defense teams dealt previously with five choking incidents that occurred in the Hasban area in Madaba governorate, resulted from using the same heating method known as "Al-Shamoosah", which was behind a number of recent deaths.

Al-Sweilmeen explained, during an emergency meeting of the parliamentary energy committee, that during the civil defense response to recent incidents, they received information indicating that five individuals experienced choking using the same type of heaters, where they were immediately given first aid and transported for treatment.

He confirmed that the two painful incidents that occurred on Thursday and Friday, resulting in the deaths of nine people, were due to the use of the same type of heaters, increasing the danger and prompting strict measures against this type of devices.

He mentioned that the Civil Defense has been executing awareness campaigns since the beginning of the winter season, due to the recurrence of these incidents annually, emphasizing that the Director of Public Security immediately directed to account for 5000 units of "Al-Shamoosah" heaters inside factories, and halt their sale in the markets, pending technical examination results from the Royal Scientific Society.

The General Security Directorate renewed its call to avoid using this type of heaters under any conditions, the necessity of ventilating homes regularly, adhering to gas hoses no longer than one and a half meters, stressing the importance of delivering these warnings to everyone using these heaters to protect lives.
