Khaberni - Turkish police investigations uncovered a shocking family massacre after a video of a girl helped determine the timing of the crime, leading to the truth behind the murder of three family members being revealed.
The details of the incident trace back to October 24th, when a couple and their son were found shot dead inside their apartment.
Initial hypotheses suggested that the elder son had killed his parents and then committed suicide, but a review of the evidence and the location of the weapon raised doubts about this initial narrative, according to the Turkish site "haberler".
Over the past days, conclusive evidence emerged from a video taken by a neighbor of the family, capturing his child at the same time as the incident, where gunshots and noise from within the apartment were heard in the background.
Based on the timing of the video, authorities were able to accurately determine the time of the crime, tracking the movements of family members through surveillance cameras and phone signals, revealing that the younger son, Mert Afji (31 years old), was the perpetrator.
According to the investigations, Mert meticulously planned the crime, killing his mother, father, and older brother, and attempted to arrange the bodies and conceal evidence to mislead the police into believing his brother was the perpetrator and that he had killed himself.
It was also revealed that he removed fingerprints from the weapon and used gloves, executing each step in a methodical manner to hide his crime.
In the end, the suspect was arrested, and the investigations revealed that his motives were financial, as he sought to take over the inheritance alone, due to the huge debts he was bearing.
