Khaberni - Two people were killed at least and others were injured in a shooting incident that occurred on Saturday, inside the campus of Brown University in Rhode Island, USA, according to what was announced by law enforcement authorities. The university, a member of the Ivy League, issued an alert about an active shooter, urging students and staff to take shelter in their places during the second day of final exams.
The mayor of Providence, Brett Smiley, said in a press conference that two people had died while eight others were critically injured but stable. The shooting occurred inside Barus and Holley building which houses the engineering and physics departments on the campus, which housed several exams.
According to law enforcement authorities, the suspect is a man wearing all black clothing. Timothy O'Hara, deputy police chief, said that the security forces "are using all possible resources to locate the suspect," emphasizing that the order to stay in place and take shelter is still in effect. He added: "I urge everyone to take these instructions seriously. Please, do not approach the area".
