Khaberni - A circulating video on social media platforms in Syria has topped public interest, documenting a humiliating and shocking incident where a woman is forced to kiss her mother-in-law's foot on camera, as a condition for allowing her to return to her marital home with her child, in a scene said to be filmed by the husband himself.
The video shows a woman approaching a seemingly modest house, before a young child believed to be her son opens the door for her, and she embraces him.
Latter, the mother-in-law is seen dictating to the woman and her husband to perform the humiliating act of kissing her foot in exchange for allowing her back into the house and reunifying her with her child, which the wife indeed does.
Activists circulated news stating that the video was recorded in the countryside of Aleppo governorate, indicating that the mother-in-law has been detained by the authorities, while the husband remains hidden and searches are being conducted for him.
However, local media reports have confirmed that no official statements have been issued yet regarding the incident, its details, and the location and timing of its occurrence.
