Did aliens build them A decisive response to the debate over the construction of the pyramids in Egypt

Khaberni - The renowned Egyptologist and former Minister of Antiquities, Zahi Hawass, responded to occasional theories about the construction of the pyramids, renewed by claims that alien beings built them.

The former Minister of Antiquities confirmed that many of the narratives circulating about the pyramids and mentioned in some alleged books have no basis in truth, asserting that any claims about "the Elyians" or alien beings' involvement in the construction of the pyramids have no connection to reality.

The famous Egyptologist pointed out that the rumors about the pyramids being used to generate electricity or relying on "granite" inside the structure are incorrect, confirming that limestone is the main material used in the construction of the pyramids, except for some upper chambers that contain granite.

Hawass stressed in statements to a local Egyptian channel that the ancient Egyptians utilized their engineering skills to exploit the limestone and granite of the Giza plateau with astounding precision.

Hawass explained that the use of 3D scanning technologies has revealed the names of the worker teams who participated in lifting the stones, emphasizing that these historical discoveries completely deny any unscientific claims about alien intervention or supernatural forces.

Hawass emphasized the importance of corroborating scientific sources before believing any books or claims about the pyramids, confirming that what is sometimes published under the names of researchers or writers bears no relation to the truth, and that the ancient Egyptians alone are the ones who executed these impressive engineering marvels.

The debate over the construction of the pyramids was revived with Egyptology researcher Waseem El Sisi suggesting the possibility of alien beings or supernatural forces being involved in the pyramid construction process, based on alleged papyri preserved in the Vatican, while Hawass vehemently denied this, considering these claims "nonsense" and "hallucinations" lacking scientific evidence.

Hawass confirmed that some people invent fake papyri to support conspiracy theories, and that there is no evidence to support the intervention of "the Elyians" in the construction of the pyramids, stressing that the ancient Egyptians are the builders of those marvels with their engineering skills alone.

The three great pyramids of Giza, Khufu, Khafre, Menkaure, were built during the Fourth Dynasty around 2600-2500 B.C., and the height of the Great Pyramid of Khufu, the largest, is 146 meters, using 2.3 million limestone blocks each weighing about two tons.

Archaeological expeditions, including those under the supervision of Hawass, discovered the workers' tombs near Giza, containing inscriptions with the names of work teams such as "Friends of Khufu", and the Wadi Al-Jarf papyrus from the era of Khufu documents the transportation of stones by the Nile.

Theories of "alien beings" date back to books like "Chariots of the Gods" by Erich von Däniken (1968), and spread through the internet and programs such as Ancient Aliens, which Hawass has responded to many times, including against Elon Musk (2020 and 2024) and Joe Rogan (2025), considering them an insult to the genius of the ancient Egyptians.
