Khaberni - The United Nations Children's Fund "UNICEF" warned on Saturday of increasing risks of disease outbreaks among Gaza Strip children, calling for an intensification of the entry of humanitarian aid, especially clothing and tents given the harsh weather conditions.
The organization explained that current conditions increasingly threaten the safety of children with the ongoing low weather and the delayed arrival of essential supplies.
It called for allowing the transfer of humanitarian assistance, including large quantities of accumulated winter supplies at the borders of the sector safely, quickly, and without any obstacles.
Nutritional screenings conducted by "UNICEF" and its partners in Gaza during last November showed that 9300 children under the age of five in the sector suffer from severe malnutrition.
