After the death of 9 people Green Home confirms the safety of Shamosa and security warns against it

Khaberni - Green Home, the manufacturer of the gas heater known as Shamosa, confirmed that its products are original and safe, and subject to safety and quality tests following the highest approved standards, after the official warnings issued by the Public Security Directorate about the dangers of using this type of heaters, which resulted in the death of 9 people within 24 hours.

In an official statement on Saturday, the company clarified that the Shamosa heater is legally registered, patented, and certified by the Royal Scientific Society and the Jordan Standards and Metrology Organization, and is equipped with advanced safety systems including an oxygen sensor, motion sensor, and an automatic shutdown system in case of any malfunction.

The company emphasized its full commitment to consumer protection and safety, and its outright rejection of any abuse or misleading information that affects the product's reputation, affirming its legal rights against any party that publishes inaccurate information.

The Jordanian Public Security Directorate warned of the dangers of using gas heaters locally known as "Shamosa", after they caused the death of 9 people in two separate incidents in the Zarqa Governorate within 24 hours, due to carbon monoxide poisoning leaked from them.

The spokesperson for the Public Security Directorate said that the same heater was the common denominator in both incidents, prompting the competent authorities to issue an urgent warning against its use and to start examining samples of these heaters to ensure they meet public safety standards.

He confirmed that joint teams began to inventory heaters of this type in local markets and factories designated for their manufacture, in preparation to ban their sale pending the release of the laboratory results.

The first incident claimed the lives of five members of the same family of Arab nationality, including the mother and her children, while the second incident claimed the lives of four people from another family in the Hashemite area of Zarqa Governorate.

The directorate renewed its call for citizens to regularly check heating equipment and follow preventive guidelines related to the use of heaters, emphasizing the importance of ventilating homes and not leaving heaters burning during sleep.
